Sometimes the best food discoveries come from the most unexpected combinations.

At this year’s Great Yorkshire Show, we teamed up with Asda and our master cheese-making friends at Castello Cheese to showcase a pairing that might not be the first one that springs to mind — but certainly deserves a place on your plate.

Our traditional Yorkshire Parkin Mega Loaf Cake, paired with rich and creamy Danish Blue Cheese, proved to be a surprisingly delicious combination.

The warming, gently spiced flavours of Yorkshire Parkin work beautifully alongside the distinctive character of Danish Blue. The sweetness of the cake provides a wonderful contrast to the savoury, tangy notes of the cheese, creating a combination that is both indulgent and wonderfully Yorkshire.

Visitors to the Great Yorkshire Show had the chance to discover the pairing for themselves, and it certainly got people talking about new ways to enjoy a classic Yorkshire favourite.
